The Enugu State Government has established a condolence register for Nigerians to honor the late Nollywood star, Obumneme Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope, who recently passed away in a boating accident.

Governor Peter Mbah expressed profound shock at the unexpected loss of the Nollywood figure, calling it ‘heart-wrenching’.

A statement from the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Aka Eze Aka, over the weekend confirmed the condolence register will be available at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Information and Communication in the State Secretariat, Enugu, starting Monday, April 15, 2024.

“The passing of Junior Pope coincides with Enugu State’s efforts to foster the creative abilities of its youth for self-reliance, employment, and showcasing their talents globally.

“Governor Mbah mourns the tragic loss of the young star and other talented Nigerians in the accident and offers his condolences to their families, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), and the Nollywood community.

“For those unable to visit the Ministry of Information and Communication, tributes can be sent via email to condolencejuniorpope@gmail.com,” the Commissioner stated.

He added that the state will work closely with the family to arrange a respectful burial for the late movie star.
