Tems Wins Big! Grabs Best African Music Award at 2025 Grammys

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has won the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards.

Her song Love Me JeJe earned her the victory, surpassing strong competition from Tomorrow by Yemi Alade, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Higher by Burna Boy.

This achievement marks Tems’ second Grammy win.

Last year, South African artist Tyla made history by securing the inaugural award in this category with her hit song Water.

At this year’s Grammys, Tems received three nominations, bringing her career total to eight.

In addition to her win, she was nominated for Best Global Music Album for Born in the Wild and Best R&B Song for Burning.

The 67th Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Nigerian Designer Sets 106-Hour Sewing Record!

Oluwaseun Kuforiji, a fashion designer from Ogun State, has officially secured a place in the Guinness World Records for the longest sewing marathon.

His remarkable feat was acknowledged on Friday when he was presented with an official certificate and plaque celebrating his accomplishment.

Between January 22 and January 26, 2024, Kuforiji tirelessly stitched for an astonishing 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

Relying solely on a needle and thread, he displayed an extraordinary level of precision, skill, and perseverance.

During the initial six hours of his challenge, he had already crafted a full Agbada, demonstrating his speed and accuracy.

By the time he reached the end of his marathon, he had completed a total of 18 outfits, solidifying his dedication to the art of tailoring.

Kuforiji, an alumnus of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, is the creative force behind Koil Creations, a fashion brand known for its craftsmanship.
