The family of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has spoken out against Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi’s call for a protest at the next court hearing related to Mohbad’s death.

Fabiyi had urged the public to protest peacefully at the upcoming coroner’s inquest, but the family has warned against disrupting court proceedings.

In a statement through their legal team, Monisola Odumosu, the family said: “Anyone is free to do whatever they want so far he or she does it within the confines of the law.

The Constitution gives everyone the right to express his or her grievances.”

However, they cautioned: “However coming within the court precinct is another issue entirely. They must not make noise. The business of justice in the court must not be disturbed in any manner. Lest they be charged for contempt of Court.”

The family advised: “Our advice is that they should not disrupt the proceedings in the court in any form whilst they exercise their rights.”

Chidimma Adetshina, a South African model, has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant.

This comes after she withdrew from a South African beauty pageant due to xenophobic attacks from some South Africans.

Chidimma expressed her gratitude to Nigerians for their support during the challenging time. She said, “Hello everyone, my name is Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, and I cannot think of this video without expressing my gratitude to the incredible people who have shown me so much love and so much support.”

She announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant, saying, “Now I have received an invitation from the Silver Bird Group, who are the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty Pageant. And I say this is a great excitement because I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 All Beauty Pageant.”

Chidimma acknowledged the responsibilities that come with the title and expressed her excitement for the journey. She said, “Now I understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with this title, and I am so excited to walk on this journey. And I just want to say thank you so much for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Universe Nigeria.”
