President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a three-day official visit to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, following an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The President’s flight took off around 1:00 PM on Wednesday.

Accompanying President Tinubu are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet, who will participate in signing agreements and exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral relations. The visit aims to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

Upon arrival, President Tinubu will meet with President Nguema Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa, where discussions and agreements on oil, gas, and security will be held. The two leaders are expected to sign agreements focused on these areas.

Japan, Nigeria Strengthen Ties

Japan’s Foreign Minister, Kamikawa Yoko, met with Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, to deepen bilateral relations.

They discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors, particularly business and economic relations. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development Ministerial Meeting.
