Portuguese football icon Pepe has officially retired from the sport after a storied career spanning over two decades.
The 41-year-old defender announced his retirement in a video posted on his Instagram page.
Pepe’s illustrious career saw him represent Portugal with distinction, amassing 141 appearances and helping his country win the European Championship in 2016. He also became the oldest player to appear at a European Championship finals tournament.
