The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and SMEDAN have launched a N1 billion endowment fund to support female entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The fund aims to empower young women to establish and grow their businesses.

The Alhaja Habibatu Mogaji Tinubu Endowment Fund was unveiled at the Royal African Young Leadership Forum, where 100 outstanding youths from across Africa received awards. The event celebrated the continent’s hidden treasures and immense potential.

Oba Ogunwusi praised the awardees, saying their stories would inspire others to excel in various fields. He also honored the legacy of Alhaja Habibatu Mogaji Tinubu, a renowned entrepreneur.

“For this fund, we know one person so prolific in Nigeria due to what she did as an entrepreneur,” Oba Ogunwusi said. We are naming this fund after Iyaloja Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu to help young people establish their own businesses.

Fire Engulfs Lagos Building, No Casualties

A two-storey residential building in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, was gutted by fire on Sunday, according to Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary.

The incident occurred at No. 14 Okobaba Street, off Ibadan Street.

The LASEMA Response Team responded to a distress call and arrived at the scene to find the building engulfed in flames. Further investigation revealed that the fire started in a flat on the top floor.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded due to the swift intervention of emergency responders. The fire affected several units in the building, including a two-bedroom flat and a single room.

The fire has been subdued, and dampening down operations are ongoing, Oke-Osanyintolu stated. He praised the quick response of the LRT, LASEMA Fire Unit, and other agencies.
