Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has commended Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for deleting the controversial music video of his signee, Logos Olori.

The popular music star deleted the controversial video which he posted on his Twitter page on Friday morning to promote his signee.

Recall that the video generated controversy online over the weekend, as some netizens who are Muslims accused Davido of disrespecting Islamic beliefs and practices.

Some Nigerian Muslims, especially in the North, found the video offensive and asked the music star to delete the video and apologise for his action.

Following days of criticism online, a check on the Twitter page of the DMW boss shows that he has finally deleted the video as requested by some Muslims, but failed to tender an apology for his action.

Following the development, Ahmad expressed happiness that Davido deleted the music video, hoping that the part which was criticised for being offensive will also be deleted.

The former presidential aide urged Davido or any other music artiste not to repeat the same mistake again, saying that it is amazing when the beauty of living in unity and harmony is celebrated while embracing the differences in the country.

He wrote: “It is good to discover that Davido deleted that offensive and hurtful video. Hopefully, the entire scene will also be deleted from the actual footage before releasing it to the market, and we humbly urge that the same grave mistake should never happen again from him or anyone else. Nigeria is a beautiful country.

“It is always amazing when we celebrate the beauty of living in unity and harmony while embracing our differences.

“Let’s strive to listen with empathy, understand with an open heart, and respect each other’s values and beliefs. By doing so, we create a safe space for everyone to express themselves authentically and foster an atmosphere of inclusion.

“Remember, it’s okay to disagree; it’s in these moments that we have the opportunity to learn and broaden our horizons.

“Let’s engage in meaningful conversations, share our stories, and find common ground, no matter how small it may seem. With love and respect, thank you!”
